Hair loss treatment

Healthy, shiny and lustrous hair is an integral part of beauty. The main causes of hair loss are chronic stress, thyroid disease and anaemia. Medications, seasonality, genetic inheritance and various skin diseases also affect hair loss and baldness.

The main symptoms of hair loss are thin, weak, brittle, brittle hair that has lost its shine. Sometimes it’s dry scalp, discolouration, etc. Treating hair loss with various therapeutic shampoos or masks takes a long time and sometimes even causes more damage and damage to the hair. In order to resolve the problem of hair loss, it is necessary to seek the help of specialists who can diagnose the root causes of hair loss and prescribe effective treatments and remedies.

At the Laser Dermatology Centre, hair loss is treated using innovative and effective procedures. Each patient is treated individually and may undergo mesotherapy or PRP treatment.

The procedures at the Laser Dermatology Centre are suitable for the following types of hair loss:

  • Androgenetic baldness (most common in men, caused by hormonal and genetic factors);
  • Focal hair loss;
  • Diffuse hair loss, which is caused by stress, seasonality, and in women after childbirth, etc;
  • Prevention of hair loss.

Mesotherapy is a safe and effective procedure to stop hair loss. This procedure involves the injection of biologically active substances into the skin by means of microinjections. These may include vitamins, amino acids, trace elements, hyaluronic acid, etc. Mesotherapy activates blood circulation and hydration of the scalp and provides the hair with the necessary substances for its growth. It also strengthens the hair roots, stimulates hair growth, reduces hair loss and improves the condition of the scalp.

Mesotherapy for hair is recommended:

  • For hair loss after childbirth, surgeries, strict diets;
  • Androgenetic hair loss;
  • For focal hair loss;
  • In case of seborrhoea of the scalp, treatment of dandruff;
  • For dry, itchy scalp;
  • For brittle, weak hair;
  • For thicker, healthier hair;
  • Prevention of grey hair.

Mesotherapy is available and suitable for men and women of all ages. The number of treatments depends on the extent of hair damage, the severity of hair loss and the age of the person. A course of mesotherapy treatments usually consists of 5 to 7 treatments every 7 to 10 days, followed by a maintenance treatment once every 1 to 3 months as required.

It is not recommended to wash your head or go to the swimming pool or sauna for 1 to 2 days after the treatment.

Mesotherapy is not performed on hair:

  • During pregnancy and lactation;
  • If the patient is allergic to any of the active ingredients;
  • If the patient has a blood clotting disorder;
  • In case of epilepsy;
  • After surgery;
  • In acute skin diseases.

The Laser Dermatology Centre also offers a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) procedure for the treatment of hair loss, where the injections are extracted from the person’s own blood. The PRP procedure effectively stops hair loss. The first injection that is given is an injection of platelet-rich plasma. During the procedure, 25 ml of blood is drawn from the patient’s vein. It is centrifuged for about 5 minutes until a special platelet concentrate is obtained. This concentrate contains 8 times more platelets than blood. During the PRP procedure, platelets are injected into the scalp by microinjections. Platelets containing growth factor have a very positive effect on the condition of the skin, which promotes hair growth.

The number of PRP treatments is individual for each patient and is determined by the intensity of hair loss and other relevant factors. In some cases, several treatments may be necessary.
It is recommended to repeat the treatment every 3 months.

The PRP procedure cannot be performed in the presence of:

  • Blood clotting disorders;
  • immunosuppression;
  • diabetes mellitus;
  • hepatic insufficiency;
  • acute and chronic infections.
  • PRP treatments are not recommended for heavy smokers and frequent alcohol users.

After a PRP procedure:

  • It is not recommended to wash hair, urinate or touch the scalp;
  • Do not take anticoagulants for a period of time;
  • Avoid direct sunlight for a week;
  • It is not recommended to exercise or do hard physical work for several days;
  • Alcohol consumption is not recommended for a few days.

So, if you have a hair loss problem and you are tired of dealing with it because no other remedies are helping, contact a medical specialist who will prescribe an effective treatment procedure. However, it is important to mention that other aspects are also important for healthy, lush and shiny hair:

A balanced diet rich in protein. Hair follicles are mainly made up of a protein called keratin. So, your diet should contain products rich in protein.

Supplements and vitamins. Various clinics offer comprehensive blood and hair tests that can pinpoint which vitamins and trace elements are deficient and can cause hair loss. For example, vitamins A, B, C, D, iron, selenium and zinc are essential for long, healthy hair. So, if you identify exactly which micronutrients you are deficient in and your doctor prescribes the correct intake of them, you can solve your hair loss problem.
